SPEED THROWING

Obbiettivo

Objective

The challenge consists of throwing as many knives as possible into a 50-centimeter diameter target in 20 seconds.

This competition has a single ranking.

Permitted Equipment

The thrower will have 30 knives provided by the competition organizers. Throwers who wish to use their own knives may do so, provided they have suitable characteristics.

Throwing Method

The minimum throwing distance is 3 meters. The thrower will arrange the 30 knives as desired on a table provided. This table may be positioned wherever the thrower prefers.

Three practice throws are permitted.

During the challenge, the thrower may hold as many knives as desired in the non-throwing hand, but may only throw one at a time.

The referee will give the start signal (Ready?...... Go!) and the end signal (Stop!). The referee will measure the time with a stopwatch.

Any thrower who starts before the umpire's signal will be disqualified.

Alternatively, it is preferable to time the event using special electronic equipment.

Scoring

Each knife properly stuck in the target is worth 1 point. Knives that do not remain stuck until the end of the event are not awarded a point. In the event of a tie, the events will be repeated (using the same procedures as the first) until the tie-breaker is resolved. Ties between throwers who do not reach the podium will not be broken.

The Goal
Throw and stick as much knives as possible in a target of 50 cm in diameter, within 20 seconds.

This is a combined event for women and men.

Permitted tools

The thrower will have 30 knives provided by the competition organization. Throwers who want to use their own knives can do so, as long as their knives fit the following restrictions:
Total length: between 23 and 35cm.
Blade diameter: between 30 and 60mm.
Weight: minimum 200 g.

Throwing rules

The minimum distance for the throw is 3m.
The thrower places the knives on a table as he prefers. The table may be moved for the convenience of the thrower.
The thrower has three test throws to find the distance.
Before and during the 20 seconds, the thrower may hold as many knives as he wishes in his non-throwing hand.
The knives must be thrown one by one.
The arbiter will give the signals for the start [ Ready ? Go ! ] and the end [ Stop ! ] of the throwing. The arbiter will measure the time himself.

A thrower who starts before the start signal will be disqualified.

Alternatively, it is preferable to manage the time of the test using special electronic equipment.

Score

Each knife sticking is worth 1 point. Knives that do not remain fixed until the end of the test do not award any points.
In case of ties there will be additional throws. In the event of a tie, the tests will be repeated (in the same way as the first) until the tie-breaker is resolved. The ties of throwers not on the podium will not be resolved.

Permitted tools

Throwers may use allowed knives for walk back.

Launch mode

The thrower faces the target at a distance of at least 3 meters carrying at least 3 knives.

Three test runs are allowed to be made on any target. When he is ready to start the test he will warn the referee. The first target to hit is the one at the bottom left, then proceeding obligatorily by hitting the targets clockwise.

Knives that are planted in a target that is not the correct one in the clockwise direction are worth 0 points. The thrower will throw five sets of three knives each. If a knife gets stuck in such a way as to hinder subsequent throws it cannot be removed.

Score

5 points are awarded for each drive into the correct target; 0 points for each knife off target, in the wrong target or not fixed; -10 points if the knife gets stuck on the perimeter line of the figure or inside the figure itself.

The maximum score is 75.

The final

The five best pitchers have access to the final which will take place in the same way as seen above. The ranking of the five finalists will be obtained from their total score (plus final qualification score). In the event of a tie, additional throws will be made to access the final or during the final itself. The additional test will consist of two sets of three knives each, with the same rules as above (i.e. throwing at the first six targets). This test will be repeated as many times as necessary to roll off the pitchers. There is no play-off for pitchers who do not enter the final. The scores obtained in the play-offs will not be added to the total. For the finalists, therefore, the maximum score is 150.
